A suburban city in the Los Angeles County area, Cerritos was once known as Dairy Valley because of its dairy farming industry. It's one of the “Gateway Cities” of the southeast Los Angeles County. Cerritos was incorporated in 1956 and currently has a population of over 49,040 residents. It is an annual participant in the Festival of Roses Parade, and is also known for its car dealership the Cerritos Auto Square because of its ubiquitous commercials.
Cerritos is also known to be the “Geographic Center of Southern California” and is referred to as such. The city's motto is “A City With Vision”. Its mild climate makes for comfortable weather year long, a favorable place for long term living.
