Los Alamitos, California /

Spanish for “little Cottonwoods,” Los Alamitos is a city found in the Orange County area. Incorporated in March of 1960, the city is home to a population of 11,449 according to the 2010 census. It is often thought that the adjacent but unincorporated city of Rossmoor is part of the city but it only uses Los Alamitos as its mailing address. The city is speculated to have intentions to annex Rossmoor and Seal Beach, to form one city. The Los Alamitos Race Course is thought to be part of the city and though it has the same postal code it actually lies within the city of Cypress. Los Alamitos is home to the U.S. Military Los Alamitos Joint Forces Training Base, and the U.S.A. Water Polo National Aquatic Center.
