Santa Fe, Spanish for “holy faith”, is where the city of Santa Fe Springs gets its name. It's home to a population of 16,223 as recorded by the 2010 census, and is considered one of the Gateway Cities of the Southeast Los Angeles County. Santa Fe Springs is the birthplace of the famed Shelby Cobra, the combination of a lightweight British roadster with the engine of an American hot rod. Santa Fe Springs' economy is made up mostly of light industry. It's home to the Egge Machine Company, a supplier of Cadillac parts for hot rods and custom cars. It's also home to U.S. Aerospace and an Oil Refinery.
