Found in Los Angeles County, West Covina is 19 miles from downtown Los Angeles. Its in the eastern San Gabriel Valley of the Greater Los Angeles area. It is home to over 106,098 residents as of the 2010 census. Incorporated in 1923 on February 17th, West Covina was formerly the site of many farms and orange groves. As the post World War II boom occurred the city's population began to increase dramatically. Between 1950 and 1960 the population increased from 5,000 to 50,000 residents. One of the city's most beloved locations in its shopping center “The Plaza at West Covina,” their recently renovated mall serving the residents of the San Gabriel Valley. Its newest addition is a food course and several more shops.
